What Our Clients Had to Say About working The Brian Kondo Real Estate Team










Sometimes when I list a home for sale, the sellers are not living in the house. In this case, Alan and Sharon weren’t even in the country! They had lived in the house for 13 years when Alan took a job in Hong Kong two years earlier. It was now vacant and a property management company was looking after the house.


They were upfront and informed me they were interviewing “several” agents. I proceeded to prepare as if I was going to meet Alan and Sharon in person. I made arrangements with the property management company to get access to the house so I could inspect it and take detailed notes and measurements. I then researched and prepared a comprehensive, up-to-date market analysis. I then emailed my findings to them and arranged a mutually convenient time to go over it with them. This was all done by phone before anyone had ever heard of “Zoom” or virtual meetings! We spoke for well over an hour – we discussed the comparable properties I emailed them and I went over my Brian Kondo Home Selling System. I also answered all of their many questions.


After they interviewed all the agents, they contacted me to say they wanted me and my team to sell their home. Now the fun started. It was decided to do some renovations to the house (changing the cracked marble floors to ceramic, painting, landscaping, etc.) before doing a full home stage since there was literally no furniture in it. That process took about 2 months but when we sent Ron, our photographer, in to do the virtual tour and pics, it was almost like a new house! As a matter of fact, Alan and Sharon were so thrilled with the results that they joked they didn’t want to sell anymore after seeing the virtual tour and pics.


We sold the house for top dollar in a down market but that’s not the end of the story. About a year after the closing date, Alan received a letter from Revenue Canada asking for an opinion of value for the house from the time he took the job in Hong Kong 2 years before we sold it. I prepared a comparative market analysis so he could forward it to Revenue Canada. After he did that, Revenue Canada then asked him for the “Allocation Rate” for homes in the area. I answered that question for Alan too. As you can see, I don’t just sell the home and disappear. I train everyone on The Brian Kondo Real Estate Team to provide superior service before, during and just as important, after the sale. This is why we get so many repeat customers and why those customers refer us to family, friends and acquaintances!
